The game arrives on PlayStation 4, XBOX One, and PC on December 6th. I don’t know if the new game will continue to take on gaming clichés or if there will be more depth to the game play this time around (the gaming element of Stick of Truth is fine, but it’s the definition of serviceable), but hopefully it will be a far richer gaming experience to go along with what’s sure to be top-notch humor.Ĭheck out the South Park: The Fractured But Whole trailer below. Just ahead of E3, a new trailer and images for the game has dropped online, and while it doesn’t include any gameplay, it looks like they have superhero movie culture squarely in their crosshairs: But whereas The Stick of Truth took on fantasy (as well as gaming clichés like the silent protagonist and audio diaries), the upcoming sequel The Fractured But Whole is going after superheroes and it’s doing it in a big way. It’s basically like playing an extra long South Park film and you get fully immersed in Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s hysterical satire. After playing South Park: The Stick of Truth, it’s hard to get upset that there hasn’t been an official South Park movie since Bigger Longer & Uncut.
